Colin & Livia Firth

“There are many reasons why this journey is absolutely fundamental. To list them all would take a life time. To summarize them all, in the words of Black Elk: “The first peace, which is the most important, is that which comes within the souls of people when they realize their relationship, their oneness with the universe and all its powers, and when they realize at the center of the universe dwells the Great Spirit, and that its center is really everywhere, it is within each of us”.

Lifesavers, Inc.

aka Lifesavers Wild Horse Rescue’s mission is dedicated to saving wild and domestic horses from abuse, neglect and slaughter. With Jill Starr at the helm, Lifesavers has been responsible for historic rescues of hundreds of horses such as the “Fish Creek” rescue in 2003 where 150 wild horses, mares and foals, were left to starve on a Nevada ranch. They were also a first responder to the heavily publicized “3 Strikes Ranch” rescue in Nebraska where 200 previously wild horses were barely alive trying to survive without food. Nearly 100 of their herd mates had already succumbed. In July of 2010 another Lifesavers historic rescue took place in Fallon, Nevada where Jill Starr, backed by a passionate donor, was able to bid on and purchase 169 horses at a livestock auction notorious for selling horses as meat. Again that year, another 66 horses were rescued from the same auction, followed by 102 mares and foals before the year’s end. The Mustangs ridden on this journey have been saved, gentled and provided by Lifesavers.

Red Horse Nation

Red Horse Nation honors the healing power of the relationship between horse and human. Red Horse Nation’s Native American Horse Inspired Psychotherapy and Native American Horse Inspired Growth and Healing program adds Native principles, culture and ceremony to evidence-based EAP activities. Native traditions have always honored and respected the horse and treated them as powerful, sacred medicine. Much has been written about the effects of multi-generational trauma being passed down through generations of Native peoples. RHN believes that horse wisdom and connection is also passed down through the generations. We call this multi-generational greatness and wisdom.

4 Elements Earth Education

A non-profit 501(c)(3) educational organization, Four Elements Earth Education was founded by Rick Berry to bring the timeless teachings of Tom Brown, Jr. to children, their families, and communities. Also known as ‘The Tracker,’ Tom Brown, Jr. learned the ancient arts of wilderness survival as a child from a Lipan Apache elder he called Grandfather. Rick studied with Tom for years and spent a decade as director of Tom’s Children of the Earth Foundation in New Jersey. In 2010, Rick started his own program, Four Elements Earth Education, on the West Coast. Throughout 4EEE’s programs, Rick and his instructors use outdoor adventure, storytelling, and hands-on experiences to teach nearly forgotten wilderness survival skills such as fire making, shelter building, animal tracking, quickie bow making, hide tanning, and flint knapping, to name a few.
